Friends of Kids in Zimbabwe is so excited to add Sunshine Project Zimbabwe as a beneficiary. Sunshine Zimbabwe Project is a Welfare organisation, established in 2011 to provide education and training to adolescents and adults with intellectual disabilities. This project was developed in response to a need for a facility to cater for school leavers from special schools within Harare. Sunshine Zimbabwe Project is registered as a division of Silver Linings Trust; however fundraising and management are independently run by a separate board. Staff include management, teacher and volunteers. They are very active in teaching these young adults various different skills and are a certified City and Guilds Centre as well. They are currently offering Hospitality, Motor Vehicle Maintenance and IT to remedial students.
Friends are hoping to be able to assist in promoting their many fund raising events and work towards gathering sponsorship to assist with covering costs of the various courses and activities they offer so that those who cannot attend the courses due to financial constraints can attend and gain a skill and become gainfully employed. Please visit their website www.sunshinezimbabweproject.com and facebook page www.facebook.com/SunshineZimbabweProject and see what they are all up to.
If you are out of Zimbabwe and want to contribute to this VERY worthy course please contact us, go to our Virgin Money Giving Fundraising page, or shop on line with Give as You Live and let us know that you want your contributions to go to Sunshine specifically.
